The Benefits of Dental Implants

Longevity

Dental implants are the most reliable and long-term solution for replacing a missing tooth. When properly placed and cared for, implants can last 40 years or longer, providing many of our patients with benefits that last a lifetime.

Jawbone Retention

Losing a tooth causes the surrounding jawbone to atrophy over time, leading to a sunken facial appearance. Dental implants are the only solution that can prevent bone loss and help maintain your facial structure.

Restore Function

Missing teeth can make it difficult to chew your favorite foods or enunciate words. Dental implant restorations function just like natural teeth, restoring your ability to eat and speak.

Stable

Traditional dentures tend to shift or slip out of place when eating or speaking. Implant-supported restorations such as crowns, bridges, or dentures provide unbeatable stability and peace of mind for years to come.

Improved Self-Esteem

Gaps in your smile can make you self-conscious and prone to hiding your teeth Our implant-supported restorations are made from the finest materials to enhance your appearance and confidence.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are composed of three parts: the implant post, the abutment, and the restoration. Implant posts are made of titanium and are inserted into the jaw, acting as the roots of the tooth. Dr. Streeter coordinates with some of the top oral surgeons in Colorado Springs to perform your implant surgery. After you have healed, you will return to our office so we can create a custom crown, bridge, or denture to complete your implant journey.

What Sets Our Approach Apart

Many dentists use a small implant and abutment, which requires the use of a large crown that looks bulky and is more difficult to clean. We use advanced technology, including digital x-rays and 3D scanners and printers to fabricate custom, all-ceramic crowns that have a more natural contour along the gum line. The crowns are attached to an appropriately sized implant via a customizable gold abutment, which has reflective properties that complement ceramic restorations and result in improved aesthetics.

The Cost of Dental Implants

The cost of dental implant surgery varies depending several factors, such as the number of implants and type of restoration. For single tooth replacement, the cost is about $2,000 for the implant and $1,600 for the crown and abutment.

For patients that require full arch replacement, we offer a more affordable option with the All-on-4 technique. However, each individual and case is different; we can provide more accurate information about pricing during a consultation.

What to Expect during Treament

A Guide Through the Process

Consultation

Dr. Streeter will discuss your medical history and conduct a thorough evaluation to determine if dental implants are right for you. He will use digital x-rays to view your teeth, gums, and jaw in order to fully understand your dental needs. He is in contact with experienced oral surgeons throughout Colorado Springs and can recommend an expert to perform your implant surgery.

Preparatory Procedures

Any dental preparatory procedures such as bone grafting are performed before starting the implant process. It is important to note that the treatment timeline varies case by case and may look a little different to everyone.

Implant Placement

The implant dentist will administer anesthesia to numb the area. Depending on the dentist, they may have sedation options available to further maximize your comfort. An incision is made across the gums to access the jawbone. The titanium implants are carefully inserted into your jaw. .

First Recovery

After the post is inserted, it will take around 4 to 6 months for the area to heal. A process called osseointegration will occur, in which the titanium posts naturally fuse to the jawbone and lock into place, creating a solid foundation.

Abutment Placement

Once the implant area has healed, you will return to the dentist to attach the abutment. The abutment attaches to titanium post, and future restoration is secured to the abutment.

Second Recovery & Placement

It will take around 2 weeks for the implant area to heal after attaching to the abutments. Impressions will be made then to complete your dental implant journay, Dr. Streeter will attach your custom restoration to the implant and ensure a comfortable fit.

All-on-4 Dental Implants

For patients who want to accelerate the implant timeline, All-on-4 dental implants are an excellent option for the right candidate.

How Does it Work

All-on-4 dental implants use four titanium posts to restore a full arch of teeth. Because the posts are inserted at an angle, less jawbone is required compared to traditional implants.

Who Is it For?

Patients who are tired of wearing dentures or want to replace a full arch of teeth. However, our dentist will first conduct a thorough evaluation to determine candidacy.

What Are the Benefits

All-on-4 implants and restorations look and function like natural teeth, and results can be achieved after just one surgery. They provide all the long-lasting benefits of traditional implants.
