A Versatile Solution

Problems That Porcelain Veneers Can Treat

A veneer is an ultra-thin porcelain shell that is placed over the front of a flawed tooth. The procedure can treat all kinds of cosmetic issues that affect people’s smiles.

Chips and Cracks

A veneer can easily mask minor fractures on the front teeth, making your smile look pristine.

Crooked Teeth

Veneers can cover minor tooth misalignment, earning them the nickname “instant orthodontics.

Tooth Discoloration

A dental veneer effectively conceals stains and other kinds of stubborn tooth discoloration.

Misshapen Teeth

Unevenly shaped teeth can be addressed with one or two dental veneers for an enhanced look.

Minor Gaps

Veneers can eliminate small gaps and spaces between teeth, improving a person’s smile.

Smile Asymmetry

Well-placed veneers can help improve the symmetry and harmony of your smile.

Candidates for Porcelain Veneers

Understanding Basic Criteria

To qualify for porcelain veneers at Streeter Dental, patients need to meet certain criteria. We can discuss candidacy and cosmetic treatment alternatives during a consultation.

Aesthetic Flaws

Patients’ concerns about a tooth or teeth should be primarily cosmetic in nature. Stained teeth can be treated, but discoloration from an infection cannot. Serious issues require restorative care.

Otherwise Good Health

A patient’s teeth should be in overall good health going into the procedure. There should be no deeper structural issues present that necessitate a restoration such as a crown, inlay, or onlay.

Sufficient Enamel

To place an ultra-thin veneer, a small amount of enamel is removed (usually less than 1mm). This provides a natural look. A lack of enamel means an alternative treatment is necessary.

The Benefits of Porcelain Veneers:

Porcelain veneers are so popular with patients and dentists because of a few key benefits. They essentially combine the advantages of multiple cosmetic dentistry procedures.

Comprehensive Effects

Veneers can treat many kinds of cosmetic problems. In fact, a complete smile makeover can be achieved using just a few porcelain veneers on their own.

Realistic Appearance

The semi-translucent IPS e.max® material blends in seamlessly with the rest of the tooth. Even up close, people won’t be able to differentiate between veneers and natural teeth.

Durable Dental Materials

The advanced materials Dr. Streeter uses don’t just look great–they can also withstand everyday wear and tear. Thanks to state-of-the-art fabrication, a porcelain veneer can last up to 10 years.

Increased Confidence in Your Smile

With custom veneers, patients can laugh and smile without self-consciousness. For people with careers that involve public interaction, the procedure can boost job performance.

The Porcelain Veneers Procedure:

A Guide Through the Process

Each patient is different, and we’ll provide a detailed rundown of the veneers procedure during a consultation at our Colorado Springs office. This step-by-step guide offers a general overview of the process.

Records Appointment

The records appointment is a chance to discuss patient goals and expectations so that we can determine if veneers are right for you. Dr. Streeter or another member of our team will aslo take digital scans of your teeth

Mock-Ups and Models

Using the digital scans, we can create a preview of the final results of your treament. We can also use our 3D printer to create a model of this digital mock-up so our patients can provide feedback.

Prepping the Teeth

If the patient is satisfied with the mock-up and models of treatment, we can then prep their teeth. We’ll remove as little enamel as possible so the natural teeth remain strong and healthy.

Digital Impressions

After the enamel removal step, detailed digital impressions are taken for the fabrication process. This helps ensure the dental veneers fit properly once they’re in place.

In-Office Veneers Fabrication

Rather than traditional porcelain, our veneers are made from e.max material, which is sturdy and stain-resistant. We mill them at the practice, making treatment faster and more convenient.

Placing Veneers

When the custom e.max shells are completed, they are checked one last time for fit before they are secured in place. The results are immediate and offer an instant boost in your confidence
